Miss Latina Racine 2009 Jessica Clarke

Jessica is a graduate of Washington Park High School and is currently a freshman at Concordia University.  While at Park High School Jessica was a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and the Ambassador Club. In addition to her academic excellence and memberships Jessica was an athlete in cross country, basketball, and softball. Volunteering and community service is a priority for Jessica as she continues her support of NHS at Park High School and the Por La Gente community sports program.

 

 

                                    
Miss Latina Racine 2008
Yazmin Romero

Yazmin is a senior at the University of Wisconsin at Parkside in the Pre- Medicine program majoring in Psychology with a minor in Biology. She has been active on campus as a member and former secretary and president of Latinos Unidos and the Mexican-American Club. Some of her accomplishments were implementation of co-sponsorship of cultural and social events, encouraging middle school and high school students to pursue higher education, fundraising for scholarships, and promoting member participation in community service. Additionally Yazmin is also active in Voces de La Frontera, Students United for Immigrant Rights, and is a mentor at San Juan Diego Middle School.

 

 


 
Miss Latina Racine 2007 Maria Becerra

 Maria is a Junior at the University of Wisconsin at Parkside majoring in Spanish and Communications. In addition to her studies Maria is an active member of Gamma Alpha Omega (GAO) and is currently serving as president of the Parkside chapter.  GAO is a community and service conscious organization that mentors "Gamma Pals" from local schools; Maria has been an active mentor since joining GAO.
