Miss Latina Racine Scholarship Corporation Announces Scholarship Applications

Miss Latina Racine announces their 2009 scholarship application is now available.

Eligible participants should meet the following criteria:

-          Resident of Racine County for a minimum of one year prior to applying.

-          Are of Latino heritage on one or both sides of the family.

-          Female 17 to 24 years old by the date of entry.

-          A current student or awaiting fall 2009 registration at an accredited college,

      university, or technical school.

-     Miss Latina Racine contestants must be available for appearances. Students attending

      school out of state must be willing to travel at their own expense to meet appearance

      requirements.

-          A minimum 2.5 GPA.

Applicants selected to participate would be eligible for the title of Miss Latina Racine and up to a $2,000 scholarship award.  First runner-up would be eligible up to a $1000 scholarship award.  The four remaining participants would be eligible up to a $500 scholarship award.

Participants are selected solely based on academic performance and a commitment to volunteerism.  Judging is based on participants’ application, participation at community events, self-assurance, and platform presentation.
